Description

This is a Master’s Degree level academic program. This is not your traditional online, pre-recorded, course. As such, you are required to be fully active during the duration of the program, particularly in the in-class and post-class activities. This program requires at least 4-6 hours of time investment per week. Those hours include the weekly, 2-hour LIVE class and the post-class activities, including: your group work, and your self-reflection and assessments.

The "Strategic HR Business Partners" certificate program is designed to enhance the strategic capabilities of HR Business Partners. Over the course of several weeks, this program deepens their ability to align human resource initiatives with business strategies, ensuring HR practices directly contribute to organizational success.

The curriculum begins with "Understanding the Language of the Business," where HR Business Partners will learn to decode and leverage business terminology and metrics to elevate their strategic discussions and decision-making. This foundational class equips participants with the essential tools to translate business objectives into HR strategies that resonate with and support the overall business direction.

The experience progresses to "Influencing Business Leaders to Champion a People-First Agenda." In this class, participants will develop skills to effectively communicate and advocate for a people-first approach, showcasing how such strategies not only enhance employee engagement and satisfaction but also drive business performance. Through mastering persuasive communication and leadership skills, HR Business Partners will be prepared to influence organizational culture and operational strategies profoundly.

"Leading an Effective Business Agenda at the Intersection of People and Culture with Performance and Strategy" guides HR Business Partners through the process of integrating people-centric strategies with corporate objectives. This class provides the frameworks and case studies necessary to demonstrate the tangible benefits of aligning HR initiatives with business goals, enhancing both employee performance and organizational outcomes.

Subsequent modules, such as "Co-creating and Co-owning the People Agenda" and "Coaching and Consulting: Learning and Applying Coaching and Consulting Skills to Support Leaders, Managers and Teams," further refine the abilities of HR Business Partners to collaborate across departments, develop leadership within teams, and foster a culture of joint ownership and continuous development.

As participants approach the culmination of the program, classes like "Navigating the People Analytics Journey for HR Business Partners" and "Communicating with Data: How to Engage Business Leaders and Teams with People Data, Analytics, and Storytelling" focus on data-driven decision-making. These classes aimed to enable HR Business Partners by providing the insights and ideas to use analytical tools and storytelling to present compelling narratives that align HR strategies with business needs effectively.

The program is structured to ensure a balance between theoretical learning and practical application. Interactive group exercises, strategic role-playing, and collaborative projects throughout the program facilitate the immediate application of learned concepts, preparing participants to implement advanced HR strategies in real-world scenarios.

Upon completing this extensive certificate program, HR Business Partners will not only have refined their strategic and operational capabilities but will also be poised to take on leadership roles that shape the future of HR within their organizations. The program includes a week of collaborative whiteboarding to synthesize learning and closes with a final assessment, followed by a graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements and readiness of the participants to drive change.

Top Things You Need to Know About the Certificate Programs

These are the top most important things that you need to know about the certificate programs:

1. Price: all our Certificate Programs are included in the Hacking HR annual premium membership (USD $159 per year, per person). There is no additional cost on top of the annual membership to participate in the Certificate Programs.

2. Program Level: this is a Master's degree program level. This means that you while you will learn great insights from the faculty, you will have to invest significant amount of time in your own reading and peer-to-peer discussions. This is not an online, self-pace, pre-recorded program. This is hands-on program that requires active engagement and participation.

3. Time Investment: you should allocate two hours a week for the classes and at least two more hours per week for assessments, post-class self-reflection action plan, and group work. At minimum, you should have at least four hours per week, and more if possible. If you do not have this kind of time, please do not enroll because.

4. Classes: all the classes are LIVE, on the dates and times indicated in the schedule. The faculty-led portion of the classes are recorded and will be available after the class. We strongly encourage you to participate in the live classes. We understand that things happen and you may miss a live class and catch up with the recorded video, but please note that you will be missing the in-class activities if that is the case.

5. Group work: there will be in-class and post-class group assignments. This is a mandatory requirement for the successful completion of the program.

6. More than one cohort: we will reject applications to participate in more than one program simultaneously. Given our experience, we already know that students will most likely have to drop out of one, which creates a significant amount of work for our team to reassign your group members.

Certificate Program Requirements

Our Certificate Programs are Master’s Degree-like: they require time investment, research, reading, writing and group work. This is not a pre-recorded, at-your-own-pace, individual program. The programs require commitment and time. We estimate that you will need about six hours per week (two hours for the weekly LIVE class, and four more hours for group work) for the entire duration of the program.

The Certificate Programs are designed with several goals in mind: to equip you with the tools to succeed in your role; provide insights and ideas to help you solve some of your most complex and pressing current (and future) challenges; connect you with a community of like-minded people leaders interested in growing together and learning from each other; develop and enhance your research and writing abilities, and critical thinking and intellectual curiosity skills; and have learn while having fun, too.

Each Certificate Program includes LIVE classes, collaborative work (during and after the classes), quizzes, assessments, self-reflection, and more. Each LIVE class is only two hours on a weekly basis for the duration of the program. This is the smallest component of the program. The most important building block is your commitment to work with your team members and partners in the program.

The classes will be recorded and the video will be available the day after the class. Each faculty-led presentation is about 30% of the duration of the LIVE class. The rest is collaborative work during the class. You will work on resolving business cases during the class (which you will explore even deeper in the post-class group work). You can certainly watch the recorded videos of the presentation during the classes you miss and still catch up, but you will be missing out on the activities. Our recommendation is that you join the classes, LIVE.

The requirements to receive the completion diploma for this Certificate Program include: complete at least 80% of the weekly activities, together with a passing rate of at least 80% in the final individual assessment. In addition, we strongly encourage you to connect with your fellow cohort participants in your group and your accountability partner to make the most out of this program by networking effectively.

Please note: you must commit at least six hours per week for the program. If you don’t have that kind of time available, please reconsider your enrollment. About 15% of people drop out in the first two weeks of the program because they don’t fully grasp the time investment this requires.

Finally, this Certificate Program (and all the other programs as well) are included in our Hacking HR annual premium membership which is USD $159 per person, per year. If you want to enroll five or more people, you can enroll with a “corporate account” which would be USD $139 per person, per year (minimum five accounts). For more information about corporate membership, please reach out to us here: [email protected]
